Bereavement

Counsellor & Psychotherapist · West Wales & Online UK
I am an experienced BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 15 years of practice. I offer in-person sessions in New Quay and across West Wales — including Aberaeron, Cardigan and Lampeter — and online counselling across the UK for anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, cancer-related concerns, and LGBTQ+ wellbeing.
All of us will experience some form of bereavement. Even when expected, loss can feel hard to bear and harder to cope with.
Trauma can leave lasting echoes, making life feel heavy or disconnected. You deserve a space where your story is heard with care.
Anxiety is common but can become prolonged nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worrying that affects everyday life.
Dealing with cancer can be very distressing. Feelings may include fear, sadness, depression and anxiety.
Living as LGBTQ+ can bring strength and also unique challenges. You deserve a space where you are seen and supported.
Supervision supports ethical practice, professional growth, and client safety for therapists and counsellors.
I offer a calm, non-judgmental environment where we can explore your experience at your pace. My integrative approach is tailored to your needs and goals. Sessions are available in person, online via Microsoft Teams, or by telephone.
Counselling is a dedicated time and space to explore what you're going through with someone trained to listen without judgement. We work together at your pace — talking through your thoughts and feelings, making sense of patterns, and finding ways forward that feel right for you.
There's no single rule. People often come when something feels stuck, overwhelming, or hard to talk about with those closest to them. If you're wondering whether counselling might help, that's usually worth a conversation — a free 15-minute call can help you decide with no pressure.
The first session is about getting to know each other. I'll ask what brings you here, what you hope for, and how you'd like to work together. There's no pressure to share everything at once — you set the pace. It's also a chance to see whether my approach feels like a good fit.
It varies. Some people find a handful of sessions enough to work through a specific issue; others benefit from longer-term support. We'll review how things are going as we go, and you're never committed to a fixed number.
Research shows online therapy can be just as effective for many concerns. I offer confidential sessions via Microsoft Teams across the UK, with the same care and professionalism as in-person work. What matters most is finding a format that helps you feel safe and able to open up.
A counsellor is trained to listen without taking sides, offering advice, or sharing their own agenda. Sessions are confidential, consistent, and focused entirely on you. That dedicated space can make it easier to explore things you might hold back elsewhere.
Yes, with rare exceptions. What you share stays between us, except where there's a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or if a court orders disclosure. I'll explain confidentiality clearly at the start so you know exactly where you stand.
