Support that affirms your identity and honours your experience
I am an inclusive therapist. I provide a safe and supportive space for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. Whether you identify as LGBTQ+, queer, questioning, or are exploring your sense of self, my aim is to offer a place where you can speak freely, without fear of judgement or assumptions.

Why LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counselling?

Many LGBTQ+ and queer individuals experience unique challenges that may not always be well understood in general mental health services. These might include:

-
Navigating identity and self-acceptance
-
Coming out or deciding not to
-
Dealing with rejection, shame, or family conflict
-
Processing past or ongoing discrimination or trauma
-
Exploring gender identity or gender dysphoria
-
Relationship challenges (including poly or non-traditional dynamics)
-
Seeking meaning, belonging, and self-worth in a heteronormative world
You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. You might simply want to talk to someone who understands the importance of being seen for who you truly are.
How I Work
I offer a warm, compassionate, and affirming approach. That means I will never pathologise your identity or question your lived experience. Instead, I work with you to explore your thoughts and emotions safely and respectfully.

My approach includes:

Affirmative Practice
Recognising the impact of societal and internalised oppression, and validating your identity as part of the healing process.

Person-Centred Therapy
You lead the way. I provide a non-judgemental, empathetic environment that allows you to explore what matters most to you.

Integrative Methods
Drawing on different therapeutic models to support your unique needs – whether that involves trauma-informed care, CBT tools, or simply a space to reflect and be heard.

Cultural Sensitivity
Understanding that LGBTQ+ experiences are shaped by culture, race, disability, class, and faith. I aim to honour all aspects of your identity.
